Weekend Before First Day

This is the weekend all teachers get last minute things accomplished. The year is about to start and the kids are ready to come and learn...... or drive us crazy Can't wait for the first day of school to see the little ones walk in to the Wild West!

The Room

Our room is just about ready for the little ones to get there! We just have little details to deal with and put up or out. WE had a productive day today and no one got hurt! LOL My Co Teach is awesome! She is quiet but I am sure that will change :) Now a 3 day weekend to soak in as much sunshine as one can before PRE PLANNING on Monday!

Turn Around Schools

The definition of a Turn Around School....... MINE! I am teaching at a school who does not meet the requirements of the state. Whose requirements are those...... they are those of someone who sits in an office and writes the standards that are to be taught not of those who walk in my shoes everyday! Oh you say that everyday teachers are not in school. I beg to differ ask any spouse of an educator and they will tell you otherwise.  WE, educators, might only have your students for 180 days however  on the other 185 days we are planning for your sweet angles. Today we sat in a early return meeting that was a waste of time! I mean really could you not find someone who wasn't monotone or that wanted us to actually learn something to use in our room. We sat around having sidebar conversations and texting.... Please Kill Me to the person sitting next to you. I mean I could have used time in my room to organize cause any teacher in their right mind knows pre-planning week we have little time in them.  We played a game today that was called "That's me" The idea is to say something that others would stand up and say "that's me" when you said that you would stand up and try to find another persons seat. I found out from my table group that my friends liked porn, being naughty on the beach and one used to be a man! Really what you find out when you are so bored  you could kill yourself. The next two days I am working in my room with my co-teacher and going to get everything done so I can relax on the beach and have a few drinks to get ready for the next 190 days ahead of me.....
